Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m

Check Out Limits

Students may check out ONE book at a time for a period of two weeks.  After first quarter, students in 2nd - 5th may check out TWO books* at a time for a period of two weeks.

*Students who check out two books must not have outstanding fines. 

Overdue/Lost/Damaged Books

OES does not charge students for overdue fees; however, students will not be able to check out additional books until all overdue books are returned, or all fines have been paid for any lost or damaged books.  Unpaid fines from previous years will carry over to the next school year.

Free Resources for Teaching & Learning PBS Teachers is PBS' national web destination for high-quality preK-12 educational resources. Here you'll find classroom materials suitable for a wide range of subjects and grade levels. We provide thousands of lesson plans, teaching activities, on-demand video assets, and interactive games and simulations. These resources are correlated to state and national educational standards and are tied to PBS' award-winning on-air and online programming like NOVA, Nature, Cyberchase, Between the Lions and more.

 

Discovery Education

 

Discovery Education unitedstreaming is a digital video-based learning resource from Discovery Education. With Discovery Education unitedstreaming, educators gain on-demand access to 50,000 content-specific segments from 5,000 full-length educational videos. Today, educators at more than half the schools across the United States use unitedstreaming to integrate vibrant digital content into the curricula of more than 30 million students.

 

The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources are available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state.


Alabama Mosaic is a repository of digital materials on Alabama's history, culture, places, and people. Its purpose is to make unique historical treasures from Alabama's archives, libraries, museums, and other repositories electronically accessible to Alabama residents and to students, researchers, and the general public in other states and countries.
